3月14日 About FlowerstoneThe Korean flower stone, the worldwide treasure that is called as the "crystal of beauty created by God"! The Korean flower stone contains the oldest ancient artistic value in the world that was in the underground of the Korean soil already from the Mesozoic Era!We, FlowerStone.co.kr & FlowerStone.kr, are making endeavors to publicize and disperse the true value of the everlasting mysterious Korean flower stones to all over the world.
The flower stone lodes that have been licensed for mining already for this mystique Korean flower stone are almost done with the mining that are in the deleted condition. From the existing Korean flower stones already processed for a work product, there are approximately 500 pieces that may be recognized as the outstanding value for their flower pattern and size. Also, some part of southern area where there may have some more of flower stone vein is prohibited for new exploitation permit so that the resource for making a fine work product is limited to the small volume of ore that is already exploited. Furthermore, since the fine ore are already produced in fine work product, it is very difficult to expect outstanding artistic works from the remaining ore. Therefore, we, FlowerStone.kr, are having this opportunity to disperse these very valuable global treasures to many countries. At the same time, we want to provide this opportunity to enjoy these rare and precious things to many people, non-collectors, through the regular exhibitions where many collectors can exhibit them. These efforts are made so that the true value of Korean flower stone may be spread out throughout the entire world. We plan to hold the Global Treasure Korean Flower Stone Exhibitions for once a year in both Korea and the US from 2004 as followings for the collectors. In addtion, we will pay all the expenses incurred to the collectors including the insurance premium for the exhibited work pieces. Creation
Korean Flower Stone is a mysterious flower blossomed in the stones that are everlasting and unchanging. The Korean Flower Stone, the everlasting global treasure, is only estimated to form in the Mesozoic Era 250 million years ago to 60 million years ago, and not known any further of how it is formed. In spite of studies by geology scholars of some countries, the mysterious flower-stone is estimated as the mystique art product created by the ever-changing harmony of physical and chemical nature while going through the long period of time after the effecting of gushing out of magma of volcanoes for hundreds of million years. Looking into the geology formation of the southern region of Korea where the flower-stone is mainly produced, it is clearly formed in the broad sedimentary rocks of volcano. The fact that one lode produces only one type of flower-stone seems to indicate that the types of unique flower-stones are formed following the pattern of each volcano of the ancient times. However, the cause of formation of this beautiful and mysterious flower-stone is still remained unknown and more profound studies are to be undertaken. If not, it may remain as the perpetual secret that the God keeps alone. There is a saying that Korean Flower Stone is the "Crystal of Beauty created by God". Characteritics The flower-stone is produced in Korea and several countries in the world but the Korean flower-stone has different types from the flower-stones of other countries. The peculiar characteristic of the Korean flower-stones is that each flower pattern of all Korean flower-stones is settled in core formation of round ball shape in the ore. In addition, Korean flower-stone is made in clear cut of its flower pattern nucleus. Furthermore, the stone stiffness of the Korean flower-stone is 5.5-6.5 on Mohs Hardness Scale (Talc 1 - Diamond 10) that it is stronger than jade Mohs Hardness Scale 5.0, that is comparable to the gemstones. Therefore, it cannot be compared with the other ones from other countries for the shape and quality of the flower patterns. Classfication The classes of flower-stones for other countries are only several types. However, Korean Flower Stones are largely divided into over 10 types. They are further divided into more than 60 classes of flower stones. Artistic Value As the precious gemstones like most favored diamond shines beautifully only through the sophisticated touch of highly skilled professional, this flower stone can become the outstanding art work through tens of difficult and complicated processing steps. It has to be discovered by the few true experts who have the high artistic aesthetic eyes to mining of its raw ore. And they observe the flower shapes vaguely settled in the surface of the ores to find accurately for the nucleus of the flower in the ores. Then, they accurately cut the center of the core to make the most beautiful shape of each flower pattern, harmonizing with its entire flower-stone shape. And then, an art work of Korean flower stone comes into the world through tens of an artisan's excellent processing steps and through the several and weeks to several months of processing. Therefore, The Korean Flower Stones are more precious art works than any other jewelry. Antique Value As previously mentioned under creation, the cause of the formation of the mysterious Korean Flower Stone is yet to be known in spite of many researches done by geology scholars in some countries, but the scholars estimate the creation period for Mesozoic era of the earth of 250 million years to 60 million years, volcanic sedimentary layer era. Therefore, even though the actual flower-stone products have come out into the world by a small number of artisans since about thirty years ago, but the Korean Flower Stones have already existed under the deep mountain mining site of Korea hundreds of million years ago. Accordingly, the mysterious Korean flower stones are older and more rare and precious than any other antique artworks in the world. Rare and Precious Collection Value As stated on the preceding page, the problem with the worldwide gemstone, Korean Flower Stone, is that the flower-stone lodes that are already licensed are almost depleted now. Also, from the Korean flower-stone products existed in art products, it is estimated to be approximately 500 pieces that may be recognized as the outstanding piece works for the flower pattern and size. Furthermore, the fine ores among the resources already excavated are almost all made in art works so that it is a wonder how many excellent art works are to be born in the future. Although the flower shape or stone quality is not the same with the Korean flower stone, the Japanese flower stones are designated as the natural monument by the Japanese authority recognizing the flower-stone as the valuable gemstones for a long time due to its rarity and depletion, and the flower-stones are under the national systematic management with the prohibition to carry out to the overseas. The Korean Flower Stone that has been buried its true value while enduring the time of internality with the breathe of Korea in its beautiful land. The Korean Flower Stone that has now taken for its proud position with its true value as the global treasure. The Korean Flower Stone that requires a very difficult mining stage in excavating the rocks of hundreds and thousands of tones for gathering of one ton of outstanding ore in order to make one piece of shining art work. And it also requires a special effort of patience of masters with the high level of aesthetic eyes and vast amount of expenses. Thus far, only some collectors in Korea and Japan appreciate the Korean Flower Stone. But it has taken its position as the rare and precious collection of art work and a way of accumulating financial means while its true values, namely, the rarity and artistic value, are recognized to the high-class of collectors who are high artistic professionals. The spherulites in them represent an undercooling caused by very fast cooling of the dykes in a shallow depth near to the surface and the variety of types were resulted from the difference of relative cooling rate. Cheongsong spherulitic rhyolites can be classified into five types based on the cooling rate; radiated simple spherulite, layered simple spherulite, layered multiple spherulite, radiated-layered multiple spherulite, radiating layered multiple spherulite. Radiated simple and radiating layered multiple spherulites formed by diffusion current caused by undercooling related to very fast cooling. On the other hand, layered multiple spherulites formed by relatively slow diffusion as a Liesegang ring during relatively slow cooling. If the cooling rate is between the two cases, layered simple spherulites formed. This interpretation indicates that Chrysanthemum, Dahlia and Sunflower types which are included in radiated simple or radiating layered multiple spherulite formed in the dykes with the fastest cooling rate in Cheongsong area while Peony, Rose and Innominate types classified as layered multiple spherulite formed in the dykes with the relatively slowest cooling rate. At the cooling rate between them, Apricot type spherulites formed. The K-Ar age-dating for Cheongsong spherulitic rhyolites indicate then to be formed between 48 and 50 Ma. The Cheongsong rhyolites are very valuable for research and preservation because of their rarity, beauty and diversity. |
